Challenge
The farmers suspected that the flooding had severely affected the crops, but the specific factors were unknown. Identifying the root cause of crop failure was critical to help them to regain control of their land and future cultivation.
Our Approach
To begin the investigation, the farmers provided:
- Water sample from the Ozat River post-flood.
- Soil sample from the affected farmland.
Our experienced team conducted a comprehensive analysis in our NABL accredited laboratory, focusing on key water and soil quality indicators that could impact crop health.
Solutions
Through detailed research and analysis, we discovered extremely high levels of COD, TDS, Chloride, Sulphate, and Iron. These higher concentrations were found to be harmful to soil health and water quality, directly affecting the region’s agricultural output.
Outcome
We complied our findings into a detailed test report, which was subsequently covered by various media outlets. This exposure empowered the farmers to present the findings to the local Collector’s Office, highlighting the need for government interference and support in rehabilitating the affected farmlands.
